VN-Peacekeeping in Mali: Anpassungsbedarf für das neue Minusma-Mandat

Abstract

Am 30. Juni 2019 endet das Mandat der United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (Minusma). Eine Verlängerung des Mandats durch den VN-Sicherheitsrat gilt als sicher. Dabei ist unklar, welchen Beitrag die Mission zur Stabilisierung Malis zu leisten vermag und wie das Mandat geändert werden könnte, um die Mission effektiver zu gestalten. Angesichts der sich verändernden Rahmenbedingungen in Mali sollte der Sicherheitsrat ein stärkeres Minusma-Engagement in Zentralmali erwägen. Dafür müssen aber auch Abstriche im Norden gemacht werden.
