Lücken in der Tagesordnung des Londoner G20-Gipfels

Abstract

Am 2. April kommen die Staats- und Regierungschefs der G20 in London zusammen, um eine Reform der internationalen Finanzarchitektur zu erörtern und koordinierte Maßnahmen zur Bekämpfung der Weltwirtschaftskrise zu beschließen. Die Länder der EU haben bereits Vorschläge gemacht, wie die Finanzmärkte künftig stabilisiert werden sollen. Allerdings fällt auf, dass wichtige Fragen bisher gar nicht auf der Tagesordnung stehen. Vor allem ist unklar, welche Art von Sanktionen gegen Länder verhängt werden soll, die sich nicht kooperationswillig zeigen. Überraschenderweise ist auch nicht geplant, über die Problematik globaler Ungleichgewichte und potentielle Ansätze zu ihrer Beseitigung zu diskutieren. Es scheint, als würden die Regierungsvertreter aller Rhetorik zum Trotz nur kosmetische Veränderungen der Finanzarchitektur anstreben
