Zypern: Ein Silberstreif am Horizont?

Abstract

Seit dem 19. Februar wird auf Zypern wieder verhandelt. Alle Auguren sind sich einig, daß die Chancen für eine Lösung des Konflikts so gut sind wie nie zuvor, aber auch, daß die aktuellen Verhandlungen auf absehbare Zeit die letzte Chance für eine Lösung bieten. Ein erneutes Scheitern würde den Status quo auf Jahre, wenn nicht Jahrzehnte zementieren. Ob diese Annahme berechtigt ist, läßt sich durch einen genaueren Blick auf folgende Fragen prüfen: Warum kam es zu einer Wiederaufnahme der Verhandlungen? Welche Interessen verfolgen die beteiligten Parteien? Welcher Verlauf der Verhandlungen ist wahrscheinlich? Welche Konsequenzen hätte ein Scheitern? Was kommt nach einer Lösung? (SWP-aktuell / SWP)
