Lebensqualität in Vorpommern-Rügen - Ein Vergleich mit ausgewählten Metropolen und Vergleichsstädten Deutschlands

Abstract

Die Schaffung gleichwertiger Lebensverhältnisse und das Gefälle zwischen Stadt und Land stellen mit die größten Herausforderungen für Deutschland dar. Wie unterschiedlich sind die Lebensbedingungen in Vorpommern-Rügen im Vergleich zu anderen Regionen in der Bundesrepublik? Dieser Frage und den sozioökonomischen Lebensbedingungen in Vorpommern-Rügen widmet sich die vorliegende Studie. Dabei wurden ausgewählte Städte im Landkreis (Stralsund, Barth, Grimmen und Bergen auf Rügen) sowie die drei größten Metropolen (Berlin, Hamburg und München) und einige repräsentative Vergleichsstädte Deutschlands in einer quantitativen Analyse untersucht. Stärken der Region Vorpommern-Rügen sind u. a. das gute Verhältnis von Betreuungsplätzen pro Kind, die überdurchschnittlich guten überregionalen Zugverbindungen von und nach Stralsund und Bergen auf Rügen, die geringere Stickstoffdioxid- und Feinstaubbelastungen (insbesondere in Grimmen, Barth und Bergen auf Rügen) gegenüber den Metropolen und der erschwingliche Wohnraum.
