Abstract

Im Juni 2014 verabschiedete der Menschenrechtsrat der Vereinten Nationen (UN) die Resolution 26/9, die einen zwischenstaatlichen Prozess zum Thema Wirtschaft und Menschenrechte einleitete. Ziel ist die Verabschiedung eines internationalen Abkommens. Mit der Resolution wurde die Offene zwischenstaatliche Arbeitsgruppe (IGWG) ins Leben gerufen. Sie steht allen UN-Mitgliedstaaten offen und hat das Mandat, 'ein internationales rechtsverbindliches Instrument auszuarbeiten, um die Aktivitäten transnationaler Unternehmen und anderer Unternehmen im internationalen Menschenrechtsrahmen zu regeln'.
