Es geht doch: NRW auf dem Weg zu einem ausgeglichenen Haushalt

Abstract

Der nordrhein-westfälische Landtag hat den Haushalt für das Jahr 2007 verabschiedet. Zwar werden auch in diesem Haushalt Ausgaben mit Krediten finanziert, doch hat sich die Haushaltslage gegenüber den ursprünglichen Planungen beachtlich verbessert. Auf Grund der unerwartet guten Entwicklung bei den Steuereinnahmen sind deutlich weniger neue Schulden erforderlich als vor einigen Monaten angenommen. Zu der insgesamt erfreulichen Entwicklung des nordrhein-westfälischen Haushalts trägt aber auch bei, dass die Landesregierung ihren eingeschlagenen Konsolidierungskurs fortsetzt. Weil auch für die kommenden Jahre eine Zunahme der Steuereinnahmen erwartet werden kann, besteht aus unserer Sicht sogar durchaus die Chance, bereits in dieser Legislaturperiode einen ausgeglichenen Haushalt zu erreichen. Voraussetzung hierfür ist allerdings, dass es gelingt, eine insgesamt zurückhaltende Ausgabenpolitik beizubehalten und die richtigen Schwerpunkte bei den Ausgaben zu setzen.
