Konsolidierung des NRW-Landeshaushalts eingeleitet: Aber es bleibt noch viel zu tun

Abstract

Auf den ersten Blick ist der vom nordrhein-westfälischen Landtag verabschiedete Haushalt für das Jahr 2006 ein Zeugnis eines überforderten Landes. Zusätzlich zu den in der Vergangenheit angehäuften Schulden in Höhe von 112 Mrd. Euro muss das Land auch 2006 neue Kredite von knapp 5,6 Mrd. Euro aufnehmen, um alle Ausgaben (48,5 Mrd. Euro) finanzieren zu können. Auch wenn es angesichts der vielfältigen Widerstände zementierter Einzelinteressen schwer sein dürfte, auf der Ausgabenseite noch mehr zu kürzen, könnten aus unserer Sicht die Sparmaßnahmen der Landesregierung noch umfassender sein.
