Abstract

Eine neue Studie zu Deutschland zeigt: Asylbewerber erhöhen die Kriminalitätsrate nicht, anerkannte Flüchtlinge hingegen schon. - Zwischen 2010 und 2015 hat sich die Anzahl der Asylanträge in Deutschland fast verzehnfacht. Ob dieser Anstieg der Flüchtlingsmigration zu mehr Kriminalität im Land führt, wird heftig debattiert. Eine neue RWI-Studie untersucht erstmals für diesen Zeitraum den ursächlichen Einfluss von Asylbewerbern und anerkannten Flüchtlingen auf verschiedene Deliktarten in Deutschland. Sie zeigt: Die Zuwanderung von Asylbewerbern führt mit Ausnahme migrationsspezifischer Vergehen nicht zu mehr Kriminalität. Auch die einheimische Bevölkerung wird nicht häufiger kriminell. Die Teilgruppe anerkannter Flüchtlinge hingegen verübt häufiger gewaltfreie Delikte wie Diebstahl und Betrug.
