Studierende aus Entwicklungsländern: Ein ungenütztes Potenzial

Abstract

Fast jede/r vierte ausländische Studierende an Österreichs öffentlichen Universitäten kommt aus einem Entwicklungsland. Trotz dieser numerischen Signifikanz spielt diese Gruppe weder in der Wahrnehmung der Hochschulen, noch in jener von entwicklungspolitischen AkteurInnen eine große Rolle. Dabei stellt diese Gruppe an Studierenden für umfassende Internationalisierungsstrategien und den Dialog zwischen Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft ein Potenzial dar. Anlass zum Umdenken könnten die SDGs bieten, die für den universitären Wandel zunehmend eine Rolle spielen.
