Betriebszugehörigkeitsdauer und Arbeitszufriedenheit

Abstract

Der vorliegende Beitrag befasst sich mit der Frage, ob sich die Dauer der Betriebszugehörigkeit auf die Arbeitszufriedenheit auswirkt. Als Datengrundlage dienen die 36 Erhebungswellen des Sozioökonomischen Panels (SOEP) von 1984 bis 2019. Querschnittsanalysen der Daten belegen, dass zwischen der Arbeitszufriedenheit und der Länge der Betriebszugehörigkeit kein systematischer Zusammenhang besteht. Die Längsschnittanalyse erbringt dagegen ein anderes, recht stabiles Ergebnis: Die anfänglich hohe Zufriedenheit sinkt im Laufe der Zeit kontinuierlich ab und zwar auch bei Personen, die sich keine neue Stelle suchen, sondern im Betrieb verbleiben. Das Ergebnis gilt unabhängig von Geschlecht, Berufsstatus, Hochschulabschluss und Unternehmensgröße. Und auch unabhängig vom Lebensalter. Die Daten belegen einen Anfangseffekt und einen Bleibeeffekt, die in ihrem Zusammenwirken das Phänomen der sich vermindernden Arbeitszufriedenheit hervorbringen.
