Prognosen des IfW und tatsächliche Entwicklung im Jahr 2019

Abstract

Das Bruttoinlandsprodukt expandierte im Jahr 2019 um 0,6 Prozent. In unserer Frühjahrsprognose waren wir von einem Anstieg von 1 Prozent ausgegangen. Der resultierende Prognosefehler von 0,4 Prozentpunkten ist vergleichsweise gering. So lag der durchschnittliche absolute Prognosefehler in den Frühjahrsprognosen des IfW in den Jahren von 1994 bis 2018 bei 0,6 Prozentpunk­ten. Zudem sind die Prognosefehler in einem konjunkturellen Abschwung, so wie er in Deutschland im vergangenen Jahr zu verzeichnen war, tendenziell höher. Unsere Einschät­zung, dass sich die Konjunktur ausgehend von deutlich überausgelasteten Kapazitäten weiter abkühlen wird, hat sich weitest­gehend als korrekt herausgestellt. Im Verlauf des Jahres haben wir unsere Prognose etwas nach unten angepasst.
