Lernen in Nachbarschaften: Erfahrungen und Empfehlungen aus vier europäischen Regionen

Abstract

Die Analogie zu "Wohnen in Nachbarschaften" ist nicht zufällig. Längst wissen wir, dass das Aufwachsen von Kindern und der Erfolg von Bildung und Erziehung von ihrem gesamten Lebensumfeld abhängen. Die Modernisierung des Schulsystems in England wurde daher folgerichtig unter das Motto gestellt: "Eine erweiterte Schule ist eine Schule, die begriffen hat, dass sie allein nichts ausrichten kann" (Department for Education and Skills). Viele andere Institutionen - z.B. Gesundheitspflege, Kinderbetreuung, Jugendhilfe, Arbeitsvermittlung - sind an den verschiedenen Phasen des Aufwachsens beteiligt. Auch in den holländischen "Fensterschulen" wird die Zusammenarbeit all dieser Einrichtungen so organisiert, dass sie gemeinsam eine förderliche und stützende Lebensumwelt für alle Kinder und Jugendlichen herstellen. Das Hanse Passage-Projekt Modern School hat good practices für die Öffnung von Schulen zum Stadtteil in den Partnerregionen Groningen, East Riding of Yorkshire, Riga und Bremen analysiert und Empfehlungen zum Lernen in Nachbarschaften erarbeitet. Ziel ist die Weiterentwicklung von Schulen zu "Stadtteilbildungszentren", die die Integration ihrer Zielgruppen (z.B. Migrantenfamilien) sowohl in das Bildungssystem als auch in den Arbeitsmarkt und die Stadtquartiere fördern.
