Abstract

Bei der Suche nach aussichtsreichen Wirtschaftsbranchen werden insbesondere die Bereiche Soziales, Gesundheit, Sport, Freizeit und auch Kultur genannt. Diese Wirtschaftsfelder gehörten bereits in den letzten Jahren zu den wichtigsten Trägern des Strukturwandels. Eine Gemeinsamkeit der genannten Zukunftsbranchen ist, dass Produkte und Dienstleistungen produziert werden, die darauf zielen, die Lebensqualität der Menschen deutlich zu verbessern. Insbesondere der Wandel bei den soziodemographischen Rahmenbedingungen bietet gute Chancen dafür, dass dieser Wachstumstrend auch in Zukunft anhalten wird. Der vorliegende Bericht basiert auf einer im Jahre 2000 durchgeführten Untersuchung im Auftrag des Ministeriums für Arbeit, Soziales und Stadtentwicklung, Kultur und Sport des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen. Anhand verschiedener Praxisbeispiele und der Auswertung aktueller Strukturdaten werden die Zukunftsbranche Lebensqualität näher charakterisiert und mögliche Entwicklungsrichtungen und Gestaltungsperspektiven aufgezeigt.
