Kosten von Schlaganfällen in NRW und Ansätze zur Prävention

Abstract

Ischämische Schlaganfälle gehören mit über 40.000 neuen stationär versorgten Fällen in NRW zu den häufigsten Erkrankungen. Bis 2025 (bzw. 2015) wird die Zahl der Schlaganfälle um ca. 29 ( bzw. 14) Prozent zunehmen. Die Folgekosten von Schlaganfällen allein in der stationären Pflege betrugen bereits 2005 rund 745 Mio. Euro pro Jahr. Mit ca. 150 Mio. Euro pro Jahr werden dabei die Kommunen durch hohe Sozialhilfeausgaben belastet. Gezielte Präventionsmaßnahmen und verbes-serte Therapieangebote auf kommunaler Ebene können gleichzeitig gesundheitliche Probleme und Kosten senken helfen.
