Altersbilder in der Rockmusik

Abstract

Der demografische Wandel und die damit verbundene Zunahme an älteren Menschen fordern einen Diskurs zu gesellschaftlichen und individuellen Vorstellungen vom Alter(n) ein. Altersbilder haben einen erheblichen Einfluss auf die gesellschaftliche und individuelle Wahrnehmung von älteren Menschen und prägen somit auch den Umgang mit älteren Menschen. Ausgehend vom Generationenkonflikt, der durch unterschiedliche Wert- und Moralvorstellungen der Generationen geprägt ist, sind Altersbilder in der Rockmusik bis heute weitegehend negativ. Es lassen sich drei Leitmotive in Texten von Rockmusik finden, die Alter(n) beschreiben: Alter als Spiegelbild von konservativen Wertvorstellungen, die Außensicht auf das Alter(n) und die Auseinandersetzung mit dem eigenen Älterwerden.
