Ruhrbergbau und Strukturwandel: Probleme und Potentiale bei der Nutzung ehemaliger Bergbauflächen im Ruhrgebiet

Abstract

Die im Rahmen des CultNature-Projekts durchgeführte Bergbauflächen-Recherche dokumentiert die Übertagebetriebsflächen des Ruhrbergbaus aus den zurückliegenden 90 Jahren. Auf dieser Grundlage werden die aktuellen Nutzungsarten ehemaliger Bergbauflächen in quantitativer und qualitativer Hinsicht bestimmt. Für das RVR-Gebiet wurden 12.662 ha ehemaliger und noch aktiver Übertagebetriebsflächen des Ruhrbergbaus ermittelt. Das sind drei Prozent der RVR-Gesamtfläche von 436.000 ha. In der Flächennutzungskartierung des RVR sind für Bergbauflächen 3.477 ha (27 %) Industrie- und Gewerbe-(GI/GE)Nutzung, 3.054 ha (24 %) Grünflächen/ Wald, 1.840 ha (14 %) Brachflächen und 341 ha (3 %) Wohnbebauung ausgewiesen. Diese Nutzungsverteilung von Bergbauflächen weckt Zweifel daran, dass die Wiedernutzbarmachung von Bergbauflächen im Strukturwandel einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Schaffung neuer Arbeitsplätze und zu städtebaulichen Akzentsetzungen geleistet hat. Nach wie vor bereitet die Entwicklung höherwertiger Nachnutzungen von Bergbauflächen im Ruhrgebiet insgesamt, vor allem aber in Emscher- und Lippe-Zone erhebliche Probleme.
