Abstract
Corrected background: The CRAVE-C is the Chinese-language version of the Cravings for Rest and Volitional Energy Expenditure scale and is intended to assess desires to move and to rest. Studies 1 and 2 used past-week items, whereas Studies 3 and 4 used the momentary right-now frame. This proposed correction re-evaluates CRAVE-C psychometric and exercise-response evidence after a post-publication audit identified inconsistencies in data provenance, scoring, participant linkage, and privacy protection. Corrected methods: Study 1 removed 20 redundant rows from 481 available records, yielding N=461, with an N=460 contact-field sensitivity analysis; all items used a past-week frame. Study 2 compared these 461 de-duplicated Study 1 control records with 33 psychiatric-disorder participants using equivalent past-week items scored 0-10; chronic-illness inference was withdrawn because the original 62-of-113 inclusion rule and equivalent scoring were not recoverable. Study 3 was numerically reanalysed from 81 complete archived analytical rows; participant identity, raw pre/post scores linkable to those rows, reproducible score derivation, and the published N=83 sample remain unverified. Study 4 reports a linkage-restricted sensitivity analysis of 31 uniquely linked records; its historical 18/13 row-block labels are not independently verified participant groups. Corrected results: The corrected Study 1 Chinese 10-item model showed acceptable within-sample fit and internal consistency. In Study 2, the psychiatric-disorder group had lower Move and higher Rest than the 461 de-duplicated controls; no chronic-illness inference is retained. The 81 Study 3 rows reproduced all 28 rounded Figure 3 correlations and the relative-VO2max median split (high n=41; low n=40), with two subgroup-correlation sign corrections; these results are a numerical audit, not a verified participant analysis. Study 4 showed opposite Move/Rest directions across the two historically labelled row blocks within the 31-record sensitivity subset, without recovering the published N=42 analysis. Corrected conclusions: Study 1 supports preliminary evidence for a past-week Chinese 10-item CRAVE-C in 461 retained records, and Study 2 supports an unadjusted 461-control versus 33-psychiatric comparison. Study 3 supports numerical reproduction from 81 archived analytical rows only; its reported sample, demographics, score derivation, and causal or recovery interpretations are not verified. Study 4 remains a 31-record linkage-restricted sensitivity analysis with unverified historical row-block labels.
