Abstract

Die Studie befasst sich mit den Ursachen des Klimawandels und gibt einen Überblick über mögliche Konsequenzen der sich ändernden klimatischen Bedingungen, ohne jedoch ein vollständiges Lösungsschema für den Umgang mit den Herausforderungen des vom Menschen verursachten Klimawandels präsentieren zu können. Von besonderer Relevanz hinsichtlich potentieller sozioökonomischer Auswirkungen des Klimawandels ist, dass diese regional höchst unterschiedlich ausfallen werden. Handlungsmöglichkeiten zur Reduktion der potentiellen negativen Effekte des Klimawandels lassen sich grundsätzlich in die Anpassung an den Klimawandel sowie die Vermeidung von Treibhausgasemissionen unterscheiden, wobei auf Grund der Trägheit des Klimasystems die Anpassung an die negativen Auswirkungen des Klimawandels in Zukunft an Bedeutung gewinnen wird.
