Abstract

Das österreichische Universitätsgesetz von 2002 brachte eine radikale, umfassende und durch die Ideologie des New Public Management getriebene Universitätsreform in Österreich auf den Weg, die ein neues - auf den ersten Blick unternehmensähnliches - Governance-Modell für die Universitäten etablierte. Ein wesentlicher Baustein dieses Governance-Modells ist ein Universitätsrat, der wie ein Aufsichtsrat fungiert und für die strategische Entwicklung, Steuerung und Kontrolle der Universitäten zuständig ist.
