Starke Mitbestimmung, stabile Unternehmen: Eine empirische Analyse vor dem Hintergrund der Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise

Abstract

Dieser Mitbestimmungsreport ist eine Kurzdarstellung eines von der Hans-Böckler-Stiftung geförderten Projekts mit dem Titel: Wirkung der Mitbestimmung im Aufsichtsrat auf die Unternehmensführung. Hier wurde die Rolle der unternehmerischen Mitbestimmung in deutschen Kapitalgesellschaften im Hinblick auf Unternehmensperformance und Unternehmensentscheidungen während der jüngsten Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise untersucht. Hierzu wurde ein Vergleich zwischen mitbestimmten und Unternehmen ohne Mitbestimmung durchgeführt. Die Ergebnisse zeigen deutlich, dass mitbestimmte Unternehmen während der Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise nicht nur robuster waren, sie erholten sich auch schneller von den Auswirkungen der Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise. Damit unterstreicht diese Studie die Potenziale der unternehmerischen Mitbestimmung für das Bewältigen der Folgen von unternehmensexternen Schocks, wie beispielsweise der Finanz und Wirtschaftskrise.
