Abstract

Der Beitrag widmet sich der vielfach vorgetragenen These, die reichen Länder des Nordens hätten ihren Wohlstand der wirtschaftlichen Ausbeutung des Globalen Südens zu verdanken. In diesem Zusammen-hang werden mehrere Mechanismen eines Ressourcentransfers vom Süden in den Norden postuliert. Die Analyse zeigt, dass die behaupteten Wirkungsmechanismen entweder nicht existieren oder nicht die behaupteten Effekte haben. Eine Ländergruppe, die sich sinnvoll mit dem Begriff "Globaler Süden" beschreiben ließe, existiert nicht.
