Abstract

Life-long learning concepts are increasingly discussed also in logistics due to the importance of competences in a dynamic and complex logistics industry. Content management systems are programs that allow users to read, publish, and modify online content. A special kind of content management systems are wikis. The use of these tools can help that more and more people in logistics industry acquire further qualification. Logistics wikis are useful supplementary tool for learning logistics content. The following working paper describes the theoretical background of topics in logistics as well as current trends in logistics, education and training courses. The structure of this paper is oriented on the FOM ild wiki structure which is empirically tested in the last chapter. Several people from the professional context tested the wiki portal in reference to its usability. This research is connected to the German national excellence cluster 'LogistikRuhr' (www.effizienzcluster.de) as part of the WiWeLo project ('Wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung in der Logistik').
