Konjunkturelle Sensitivität der Beschäftigung in Liechtenstein

Abstract

Der LI Focus 3/2021 untersucht anhand von Korrelations- und Regressionsanalysen die kurzfristige, konjunkturelle Reaktion der Beschäftigung in Liechtenstein. Die Beschäftigungsreaktion in Liechtenstein auf Ausschläge des realen BIP ist im internationalen Vergleich gering. Zudem ist es, wie auch in anderen Ländern, im letzten Jahrzehnt zu einer Entkopplung von Beschäftigungsveränderung und Konjunktur gekommen. Ein wichtiger Grund für diese Entkopplung ist der Fachkräftemangel, welcher sich in Liechtenstein an einem hohen und weiter steigenden Anteil an (vor allem hochqualifizierten) Zupendelnden zeigt. Die Konjunkturabhängigkeit der Beschäftigung von Zupendelnden hat sich dabei reduziert und jener der Einheimischen angenähert.
