Russland: Begünstigung autoritärer Tendenzen im postsowjetischen Raum

Abstract

Über die vergangenen zehn Jahre wurde Russland nicht nur autokratischer, sondern trat auch selbstbewusster im postsowjetischen Raum auf. Einhergehend mit Russlands aktiverem Engagement in der ehemaligen UdSSR verstärkten sich nichtdemokratische Tendenzen in der Region. Diese Entwicklung wurde sowohl durch eine russische Politik, die einen Wandel hin zu westlichen Demokratiemodellen bewusst untergräbt, als auch durch konvergierende Regierungsinteressen herbeigeführt. Um diesem Trend entgegenzuwirken, müssen die Regierungen etablierter Demokratien ihre politischen Strategien anpassen, indem sie Russland in die internationale Entwicklungsarchitektur integrieren, sich über die Vorteile ihrer entwicklungspolitischen Strategie gegenüber der Russlands bewusst werden und einen lebendigen, aber bestimmten Dialog führen.
