Abstract

China hat sich auch aufgrund innenpolitischer Faktoren zu einer neuen politischen und wirtschaftlichen Kraft in Asien entwickelt. Gleichzeitig zeichnet sich in Asien ein Trend der Autokratisierung ab, der nicht zuletzt durch die gemeinsamen Interessen der politischen Führungseliten begünstigt wird. Vor dem Hintergrund dieser Entwicklung sollte der Westen seine Regionalpolitik überdenken: Er sollte China in die Geberarchitektur integrieren, zur Verbesserung von Herrschaftsstrukturen in China selbst beitragen und in Asiens Entwicklungsländern mit durchaus selbstbewusster Wertorientierung auftreten.
