Économie de la PME : de l’artefact statistique à une réalité économique

Abstract

Cet essai traite de ce qu’on appelle habituellement les PME ( Petites et Moyennes entreprises, incluant donc les TPE, très petites entreprises). Mais il pose en préambule la question de la pertinence, d’un point de vue économique, de cette catégorie statistique, définie, par exemple, comme les entreprises employant moins de 500 salariés en France. Il a pour objet de fournir un cadre d’analyse pour la compréhension de cette forme d’organisation de production de richesses en vue de permettre la construction d’actions de transformation des situations existantes visant à accroître l’efficacité économique et sociale, non seulement de l’entreprise mais aussi des territoires dans lesquels elle s’inscrit.
