Too late?! – Berufs(aus)bildung im Erwachsenenalter

Abstract

Das österreichische Qualifizierungssystem ist nach wie vor "klassisch" strukturiert: Die formale berufliche Erstausbildung findet im jungen Erwachsenenalter statt, gefolgt von einer breiten Palette überwiegend non-formaler Weiterbildungs- und Umschulungsmöglichkeiten. In Zeiten des lebensbegleitenden Lernens, des demografischen Wandels sowie technologischer Innovationen und Umbrüche stellt sich allerdings die Frage, ob diese Formen und die Sequenzierung der Fachkräftequalifizierung um ein Segment "Berufs(aus)bildung im Erwachsenenalter" erweitert werden sollten. Diese Frage wurde am 2. April 2025 beim zweiten Berufsbildungs-Jour-fixe, einer Kooperationsveranstaltung von Institut für Bildungsforschung der Wirtschaft (ibw), Institut für Höhere Studien (IHS), L&R Sozialforschung GmbH (L&R), Österreichisches Institut für Berufsbildungsforschung (öibf) und Österreichisches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (WIFO), diskutiert. Daten, Fakten und verschiedene Instrumente beleuchten die Notwendigkeit und mögliche Ansätze für eine solche Erweiterung.
