Sind die Löhne die (neuen) Preistreiber?

Abstract

Die Tariflohnsteigerungen beschleunigten sich zuletzt auf 8% im Vorjahresvergleich. Sie bewirkten bislang aber keine zusätzlichen Preisanstiege, sondern ergaben sich aus diesen, wie die vorliegende Analyse zeigt. Während eine Kompensation von Reallohnverlusten demnach keine "Lohn-Preis-Spirale" auslösen wird, wird sie die Verschlechterung der preislichen Wettbewerbsfähigkeit, die sich aus der Überinflation in Österreich ergibt, verstärken. Zudem geht sie zulasten der Unternehmen, da der Kapitalabfluss an das rohstoffexportierende Ausland den Verteilungsspielraum geschmälert hat.
