COVID-19-Pandemie: Rückgang der Beschäftigung verlangsamt sich im Mai etwas

Abstract

Mit den Lockerungen der COVID-19-bedingten Einschränkungen im Handel, in den persönlichen Dienstleistungen und im Gastgewerbe von Anfang Mai fiel der Beschäftigungsrückgang im Mai mit –4,0% etwas geringer aus als im April (April –5,0%, März –4,9%). Auch der Anstieg der Arbeitslosigkeit war (einschließlich Personen in Schulungsmaßnahmen), nach dem Höhepunkt Mitte April, im Mai mit +50,7% etwas weniger stark (April +58,2%, März +52,5%). Die Arbeitslosenquote verringerte sich auf 11,5% (April 12,7%, März 12,3%). Auch die Zahl der geringfügig Beschäftigten, die nicht in den offiziellen Zahlen des Dachverbandes der Sozialversicherungsträger ausgewiesen wird, ging seit Ausbruch der COVID-19-Pandemie massiv zurück (Mai –12,6% bzw. –43.909 auf 305.628, April –17,8%, März –21,5%) und liegt gegenwärtig auf einem Niveau wie vor rund 10 Jahren (2011: 307.741).
