Abstract

Net iets meer dan de helft van de vervroegde schooluitval uit schooljaar 2019-2020 is schoolgerelateerd (51%). Ook (geestelijke) gezondheidsproblemen (22%) en intrede op de arbeidsmarkt (9%) worden relatief vaak genoemd. Over alle onderwijsniveaus heen benoemt 2% van de vervroegde schoolverlaters dat de COVID-19 pandemie de belangrijkste reden is geweest om te stoppen met de opleiding. Voornamelijk voormalig mbo’ers met een studie op niveau 4 geven dit aan (4%). Redenen benoemd onder de “anders”-categorie betreffen onder andere zwangerschap.
