Abstract

Power of Pictures (PoP) is een programma dat tot doel heeft de lees- en schrijfvaardigheden van kinderen te verbeteren door het begrip van leraren over de kracht van prentenboeken te vergroten. Het richt zich op het vergroten van het zelfvertrouwen en de didactische vaardigheden van leraren bij het gebruik van prentenboeken in de les. De interventie is ontwikkeld om het schrijfplezier, de motivatie, het tekstbegrip en de schrijfvaardigheid van leerlingen te vergroten. Door literaire kinderboeken als uitgangspunt te nemen en te werken aan de hand van auteurstechnieken, worden leerlingen uitgedaagd om te denken, praten, tekenen en schrijven als een schrijver.
