La transnacionalización de la economía uruguaya 1990-2017

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es caracterizar y analizar el proceso de transnacionalización de la economía uruguaya desde la última década del siglo XX, en el contexto de las principales tendencias mundiales y regionales. Se presentan algunas interpretaciones generales sobre el proceso de globalización productiva junto a diversos indicadores sobre la velocidad, intensidad y otros rasgos básicos de este proceso en el mundo y en América Latina, y las principales tendencias y características de la inversión extranjera directa (IED) en Uruguay. Se describen y analizan los flujos y el stock de IED, el modo de ingreso, la distribución sectorial, los orígenes y el tipo de IED, extrayendo algunas conclusiones sobre la relevancia y principales cambios de este proceso en los últimas décadas.
