Abstract

The information in the Annual Survey of Economic Activity is presented by the INE in current values of each year, but it is interesting to obtain the values of the variables surveyed at constant prices of 1997. Why 1997 as a base? That year was the last National Economic Census with an important change in the criteria for classification of activities, valuation at producers’prices without tax deducible and with the expansion of the universe of study to other business activities other than manufacturing industry as the activities trade and services. This paper describes the process adopted to obtain price indices for deflating the current values of these economic surveys at constant prices.
