La transición al vehículo eléctrico en España: ¿rezago o impulso para la transformación?

Abstract

En este trabajo se analizan los factores de oferta y demanda que están condicionando la transición al vehículo eléctrico (VE) en España. Partiendo de la relevancia del sector automotriz español como uno de los principales productores mundiales y de su integración semiperiférica en las cadenas globales de valor, se analiza, por el lado de la oferta, el impacto de la electrificación en la producción, el empleo y las condiciones laborales. Desde la perspectiva de la demanda, se indaga en los factores explicativos de la evolución en las matriculaciones de vehículos eléctricos. El rezago productivo, el mantenimiento del empleo, la brecha productividad-salarios en las plantas españolas y la escasa asequibilidad del VE son los factores clave analizados a largo del capítulo. Todos ellos pueden verse alterados en los próximos años, en sentidos contradictorios, por la irrupción de China como nuevo actor clave para el sector automotriz español.
