Abstract

The intention of this document is to reflect and define a position on the crucial aspects of the debates about the transnational movements of the production capacity, particularly from the perspective of prosperous economies bringing into focus the ones that represents a methodology significance and have a dimension of more strategic importance. This study aims at examining in which terms it is appropriate to hold a critical position about the delocalization dynamic, that is, the alternative being offered from the conventional economy. The text is organized in four sections. The first one examines some of the conceptual and methodological questions which allow to specify the delocalization phenomenon, the second part refers to the tools used for evaluating its magnitude, in the third one there is a reflexion on the relevance of the labour and non-labour costs as the explicative causes of its growth; in the fourth and last section the costs and benefits of the delocalization are under study as well as its distribution.
