Seguro médico público en la OCDE y Unión Europea: características y tendencias

El presente artículo tiene como fin cumplir el objetivo antes expuesto; es decir: dar una imagen de las características de los seguros médicos públicos en la Organización para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo Económico (OCDE) y en particular en la Unión Europea (UE). Para ello se ha efectuado una revisión panorámica de las características de los sistemas públicos de salud, utilizando como fuente de datos para la OCDE la publicación "Social Security Programs Througthout the World" que recoge datos para 1995 y está elaborada por la "Office of Research and Statistics Social Security Administration" de Estados Unidos. Para la UE se ha utilizado como fuente la publicación de la Comisión " La protection sociale dans les États membres de l’Union Européene". Y para las cifras, se han utilizado las que proporciona la OCDE.
