Consideraciones preliminares sobre la inmigración y la cooperación para el desarrollo

Abstract

En poco más de una década España ha pasado de ser un país de emigración a convertirse en un país receptor de inmigrantes. Este cambio, que ha coincidido con la persistencia de la crisis económica internacional y con nuestra adhesión a la Comunidad Europea, plantea el diseño de una política española en materia de inmigración que ha de tener en cuenta dos consideraciones. Por una parte, el margen de maniobra que permite la propia CE. Y por otra, el diseño de una política propia en materia de inmigración que responda al planteamiento que el gobierno considere más adecuado para los intereses internos e internacionales de nuestro país a corto y largo plazo.
