Predicción de crisis empresariales en seguros no-vida. Una aplicación del algoritmo See5

Abstract

Dada la gran relevancia del sector asegurador para el conjunto de la actividad económica, la detección precoz de insolvencias en este sector es una importante cuestión a cuyo tratamiento tradicionalmente se han venido aplicando una serie de métodos, generalmente de tipo estadístico. En el marco del proyecto comunitario denominado Solvencia II, el desarrollo y aplicación de nuevos criterios que permitan un aprovechamiento más eficiente de la información financiero-contable suministrada por las entidades aseguradoras se configura como una cuestión de carácter central. De acuerdo con ello, el presente trabajo pretende examinar la aplicabilidad a la predicción de la insolvencia en el sector del seguro del algoritmo See5, técnica procedente del campo de la Inteligencia Artificial, tomando como información de partida un conjunto de ratios financieros obtenidos a partir de los estados contables de una muestra de empresas españolas de seguros no-vida.
