Movimientos migratorios internacionales: un análisis económico

Abstract

Se considera el fenómeno migratorio desde un punto de vista estrictamente económico, esto es, como la movilidad del factor de producción trabajo (o, si se prefiere, de capital humano), entre regiones. Se examinan las condiciones que llevan a que estos movimientos se produzcan, y las que determinan su intensidad, así como las consecuencias para los países receptores y para los de origen del emigrante. Partiendo del actual sistema de regulación de los flujos, se examina de manera muy sencilla las pérdidas de eficiencia a las que da lugar, y se analizan las consecuencias sobre el bienestar de su sustitución por modelos económicamente más racionales. Para finalizar, se realizan varias consideraciones sobre la aplicabilidad de estos nuevos modelos.
