Abstract

It is often said that a picture paints a thousand words. This is certainly true when it comes to data analysis. There are two good reasons to acquire some skills in graphing your data: (1) Graphical methods are a powerful way for a researcher to explore their data and (2) graphs can be a very useful way of illustrating your data and results whether it is in a presentation, a project or a thesis. In this guide I show how to use Stata to generate some of the key graphs that students in the social sciences should know about and should consider using in their projects, presentations, and theses.
