Titularidad y eficiencia: El caso de SEAT

Registered author(s):

    La política privatizadora se ha convertido desde finales de la década de los noventa en uno de los ejes principales de la reforma regulatoria acontecida en un ámbito internacional, de la que han participado países de los cinco continentes y gobiernos de distintos signos políticos. Entre los objetivos principales de esta política se encuentran la redistribución de la renta, los objetivos financieros y la mejora de la eficiencia. Precisamente en torno a este último se encuentra el presente trabajo, cuya principal finalidad es determinar si en el caso específico de la empresa SEAT (privatizada en 1986, durante la primera etapa de la política privatizadora llevada a cabo en España en las últimas décadas) la enajenación al sector privado ha derivado en una mejora efectiva de la eficiencia productiva. Se trata, en consecuencia, de un análisis del caso basado en la estimación de los índices de eficiencia en los distintos momentos temporales a partir del Análisis Envolvente de Datos (DEA).
