Discriminations à l’embauche, âge et origine : une évaluation à l’aide d’un test multi-critères

Abstract

Nous mesurons les discriminations dans l'accès à l'emploi en raison de l'âge en les comparant aux discriminations selon le sexe, l'origine et un lieu de résidence dans un quartier prioritaire à l'aide d'un test par correspondance couvrant à la fois l'emploi privé et public. Les données concernent deux domaines professionnels, celui des cadres administratifs, d'une part et celui des aides-soignantes, d'autre part. Elles ont été collectées entre novembre 2023 et mars 2024 dans la région Ile-de-France. Nous avons répondu à 675 offres d'emploi à l'aide de 3 375 candidatures fictives (5x675). L'étude ne met pas en évidence de pénalité significative liée à l'âge pour les aides-soignantes mais elle montre qu'à expérience professionnelle égale, un candidat pour un poste de cadre administratif de plus de 50 ans subit une forte pénalité dans sa recherche d'emploi, avec une baisse de plus de 20 % de ses chances d'obtenir une réponse positive à une candidature en réponse à une offre d'emploi. Cette pénalité est du même ordre de grandeur que celle d'une l'origine maghrébine.
