L'essor des ressources naturelles et son incidence sur le pouvoir d'achat au niveau des provinces

Abstract

La présente étude illustre l'incidence sur chaque économie régionale des variations des prix relatifs attribuables aux fluctuations des prix des produits de base, des taux de change et des prix internationaux des biens de fabrication. Elle porte principalement sur les provinces canadiennes, qui constituent une grande fédération géographiquement dispersée d'économies régionales présentant des bases économiques très différentes. À cet égard, l'étude met en lumière une méthode importante visant l'examen du rendement économique régional, qui convient particulièrement bien à des fédérations comme la Russie ou l'Union monétaire européenne ou à de grands pays comme les États-Unis.
