Abstract

La comparaison proposée ici est centrée sur la France, l’Allemagne, l’Italie et la Suède. Ces quatre pays d’Europe continentale disposaient avant les réformes de systèmes de retraite pour l’essentiel par répartition, à prestations définies. Ils ont mis en place depuis le milieu des années 1990 des réformes importantes, qui participent de logiques assez proches, mais selon des modalités différentes : basculement vers un système à cotisations définies en comptes notionnels en Suède et en Italie, prise en compte de la contrainte démographique dans la détermination des droits futurs à la retraite en Allemagne, augmentation de la contributivité et logique de partage des gains d’espérance de vie entre vie active et retraite en France. Ces pays sont également caractérisés par des modalités de participation au marché du travail et des transition emploi-retraites des femmes assez différenciées.
