Espagne : la récession est dans les tuyaux

Abstract

Après plus d'une décennie de croissance élevée, le PIB espagnol a ralenti en 2008 et devrait quasiment stagner en 2009 (respectivement 1,3 % et 0,1 % de croissance prévue). Le ralentissement qui touche actuellement l'ensemble des pays européens serait plus profond en Espagne du fait de la fin d'un cycle immobilier exceptionnel, tant au regard des autres pays que des précédents cycles espagnols. L'ajustement en cours dans ce secteur depuis plusieurs trimestres se poursuivrait, tout comme les destructions d'emplois, entraînant une contraction de la consommation des ménages et de l'investissement productif, malgré le soutien de la politique budgétaire. Face à une demande intérieure défaillante, la contribution du commerce extérieur au PIB serait positive en 2008 et en 2009 pour la première fois depuis dix ans. [Premier paragraphe]
