Abstract

Après quatre années d’expansion, l’année 2006 aura probablement été le haut du cycle de croissance en Amérique latine. La croissance régionale s’est établie à plus de 5 % et le premier semestre 2007 reste vigoureux même si un tassement commence à s’imprimer. Des tensions apparaissent dans la plupart des pays et le ralentissement américain pèse sur la demande étrangère. De plus, la panique financière de cet été a durci légèrement les conditions d’accès aux financements externes. Néanmoins, la confiance des investisseurs vis-à-vis de la région devrait rester solide du fait de la qualité des fondamentaux. Le ralentissement devrait donc se confirmer dans les prochains trimestres mais la croissance resterait bonne, autour de 4,4 % en 2007 et 3,7 % en 2008. [Premier paragraphe]
