Abstract

Le cycle de reprise qui avait débuté en 2002 et dépassé en durée le fameux boom Izagani a pris fin au deuxième trimestre 2007. Le PIB japonais a reculé de 0,4 % en rythme trimestriel, plombé par un fort recul de l’investissement. Après deux trimestres de progression très dynamique, la consommation privée marque le pas, tandis que les exportations ralentissent sous l’effet d’une baisse de la demande en provenance des États-Unis. L’environnement international est devenu incertain, avec la crise des subprime aux États-Unis. Le Japon traverse de surcroît une crise politique majeure suite à divers scandales financiers affectant les membres du gouvernement, qui s’est soldée le 12 septembre par la démission surprise du Premier ministre Shinzo Abe.
