Estimacion de los Efectos de los Determinantes de los Distintos Tipos de Exportaciones e Importaciones En Mexico

Abstract

Este trabajo estima cuatro ecuaciones de demanda de exportaciones (agropecuarias, manufactureras, mineras, de servicios) y cuatro ecuaciones de demanda de importaciones (consumo, capital, intermedias, de servicios) para Mexico. Se encuentra que las elasticidades ingreso de ambos tipos de demanda son elevadas, mientras que la elasticidad precio promedio ponderado de las exportaciones es alta y el valor absoluto de las elasticidades precio de las importaciones es bajo, pero significativo. El trabajo encuentra evidencia sobre el cumplimiento de la condicion de Marshall-Lerner y no encuentra evidencia de la existencia del efecto J. Finalmente, tampoco encuentra evidencia que apoye la llamada Ley de Thirlwall o regla de 45 grados.
