Abstract

The phenomenon of migration is one of the main demographic realities which can have profound effects at geopolitical and security levels. The new European developments, under the arch of migrant crisis are the most actual and acute issues. This crisis has the potential to create pressure for some host countries with a recent history challenged by issue of migration. In this respect the present study aims to emphases mostly the security-migration nexus starting from a theoretical level and to realize a demographic analysis of the situation in order to underline the magnitude of the phenomenon. This magnitude leads the present research to its last objective: identifying possible security risks and geopolitical consequences of the current crisis.
