Abstract

This paper is devoted to the political and theoretical aspects of Russian-Western relations. Existing contradictions and conflicts, as well as ways to resolve them are considered in the context of the classical approaches that are relevant to the modern theories of international relations, represented in the World academic practice. Key issues related to the general issue of Russian-Western relations, considered in the study were differences in values, the anarchical nature of international politics, the role of geopolitics, Europe and the Russian identity, possible ways to restore trust in negotiations and relationship.
